DESCRIPTION:We all like to laugh.\nI believe in the entertainment factor of
music. Most songs these days are about heartbreak and loss – songs that m
ake you want to cry. I want to make you laugh\, dance and sing along\, aft
er all life should be fun. I am not discounting serious songs as I have wr
itten them also (have a listen to Losing You). My songs are mainly ballads
about life.\nI bought my first guitar at 17 but was turned off by the tea
ching methods of the day – you know – here’s a scale\, learn it. I just wa
nted to play songs. I dabbled over the years\, more off than on. In 2002 m
y partner suggested we start a music club of our own after traveling to Fo
lk Victoria on a Friday night to listen to live music\, which we loved. Fr
om this the Berwick and District Folk Club (Badfolk) was born. This club p
rovided the inspiration to get deeper into music developing song writing s
kills through work shops and performing.\nI took singing lessons to enhanc
e my vocal ability. To those who helped me on the way – you know who you
are\, thank you.\nThis journey has resulted in the release of my debut CD\
, ‘Memories and Other Tales’ in 2012.\nThis has been followed by my second
CD\, ‘Doing Nothing’\, 2014. My third\, Facebook Friends\, will be releas
ed in 2017.\nI like most types of music. Favourite artists include blues p
layers like Tony Joe White\, and BB King. I like country music like Johnny
Cash and others.\nRock is also a favourite. Players like Johnny Rivers\,
Dion\, Bob Seeger\, Eagles and even a bit of heavy metal like Led Zeppelin
.\nWho could not like Bob Dylan songs? From this you can see my main love
is for music from the 50’s to the 70’s.\nI love the sharing and community
aspect of music.

We all like to laugh. \nI believe in
the entertainment factor of music. Most songs these days are about heartb
reak and loss – songs that make you want to cry. I want to make you laugh\
, dance and sing along\, after all life should be fun. I am not discountin
g serious songs as I have written them also (have a listen to Losing You).
My songs are mainly ballads about life.
\n
I bought my first guitar
at 17 but was turned off by the teaching methods of the day – you know – h
ere’s a scale\, learn it. I just wanted to play songs. I dabbled over the
years\, more off than on. In 2002 my partner suggested we start a music cl
ub of our own after traveling to Folk Victoria on a Friday night to listen
to live music\, which we loved. From this the Berwick and District Folk C
lub (Badfolk) was born. This club provided the inspiration to get deeper i
nto music developing song writing skills through work shops and performing
.
\n
I took singing lessons to enhance my vocal ability. To those wh
o helped me on the way – you know who you are\, thank you. \nThis jou
rney has resulted in the release of my debut CD\, ‘Memories and Other Tale
s’ in 2012. \nThis has been followed by my second CD\, ‘Doing Nothing
’\, 2014. My third\, Facebook Friends\, will be released in 2017. \nI
like most types of music. Favourite artists include blues players like To
ny Joe White\, and BB King. I like country music like Johnny Cash and othe
rs. \nRock is also a favourite. Players like Johnny Rivers\, Dion\, B
ob Seeger\, Eagles and even a bit of heavy metal like Led Zeppelin.
\nWho could not like Bob Dylan songs? From this you can see my main love i
s for music from the 50’s to the 70’s. \nI love the sharing and commu
nity aspect of music.

DESCRIPTION:Leo Joseph\, often seen playing around town in Key Grip and the
Groove Kings or at the ever popular Blues Piano Night\, or at solo piano
gigs and duo gigs with vocalist Angela Lount\, has fulfilled a dream of re
cording a solo piano CD.\nCalled Highway 88\, the CD was officially launch
ed at Beyond Q on Saturday March 24\, All Canberra Blues Society members
and friends were invited to come along to the launch – many did and togeth
er with many other fans it became a roaring sucess. The CD’s title\, High
way 88\, describes Leo’s far-from-finished journey up and down those 88 ke
ys that hold so many hard-to-uncover secrets. Four of Leo’s original tunes
are on the CD and one of them\, Paralysed Dancer was written in 1984 abou
t a trip to Alice Springs (well\, you know\, what Alice Springs was like n

Leo Joseph\, often seen playing around town in Key Grip and

Called Highway 88\
, the CD was officially launched at Beyond Q on Saturday March 24\, All C
anberra Blues Society members and friends were invited to come along to th
e launch – many did and together with many other fans it became a roaring
sucess. The CD’s title\, Highway 88\, describes Leo’s far-from-f
inished journey up and down those 88 keys that hold so many hard-to-uncove
r secrets. Four of Leo’s original tunes are on the CD and one of them\, Paralysed Dancer was written in 1984 about a trip to Alice Springs
(well\, you know\, what Alice Springs was like not so much the train trip
there!) and to which Leo added a long coda about 30 years later some time
